You know, when I looked at the link to this poast from the main page, I saw "Gateway acquired by query".

My first thought was that query has been holding out on us and that he has some really big pockets. That, or Gateway sold for chump change and query was in the right place at the right time.

But alas, that wasn't the case. Reading the article, I see that Ace bought a Gateway for $1.90. I guess that isn't a bad deal for a Gateway computer, assuming that it came with at least 1 GB of RAM. Of course now that Ace bought a Gateway computer, that can only mean one thing. Yep, Gateway will be the next mega-computer company to mega-flop.

Scuzzy; leave to Ace to ruin a good thing.

I didn't buy a dang Gateway.  I didn't buy a dang Acer, either.  Not that there's anything wrong with them.  Shoot, they make a Ferrari.  That's pretty cool.  I passed a Ferrari F430 on Main street not long ago.  Well, it passed me, actually.

No, I bought a Monarch.  Whoo Hoo.  That's like buying a Plymouth, or an Oldsmobile, or something else that no longer exists.  I mean, mine does.  But they don't.  So if something goes wrong, I can't go to them.

Ace; I have to come to you guys.  Now, aren't you sorry I didn't buy an Acer.
Ring bells for service.

Acer = Quality

Gateway/eMachines = lower quality

I say Acer should put logos on machines that say "eMachine, now a quality product by Acer", assuming they do improve the quality.
