Ace

or WHIZBANG'S BIRTHDAY BASH...boom.  Crash.  And other violent imagery.

HAPPY BIRTHANNIVERSARY WHIZ hope it's a great one.

Hope you get a new doorbell or compost bin or whatever else your heart desires on this Special Day.  Go Razorbacks!  Maybe I'll wear my Arkansas cap today.  Well, maybe not, but glad to celebrate your existence all the same.

Ace; here's to us Senior Poasters.  We're like fine wine, or scotch.  An increasing percentage of alcohol and smelly with sediment forming.  No, hold on a minute...

Ring bells for service.

Bill

And may you enjoy many more!

Pay no attention to the alcohol comments, it's too early.

Bill;  although somewhere it's 5:00pm.

Why is it that when I hit 60, everyone has to remind me.  Of course, with my looks, I could pass for 19, umm, maybe not (sigh).  Oh well, my wife is insisting that I endure a meal out tonight with my store-bought teeth.  Bless her heart, she means well.  What the heck.  I have my roof replaced without having fallen off once, not counting the one time I slipped and banged my chin.  I have a cat in my lap (her choice, not mine) and a warm wood fire.  Maybe now the years will start going backwards, as in second childhood.  Thanks all, or as some would prefer to say in the South, "ya'll."   ;D

Happy Birthday Whiz! You are a great contributer to this forum and we hope you have many more birthdays to celebrate here!  ;D

Sure is better being born on the last day of January than the last possible day of February (29th). As a result, you can celebrate on your true birthday.

Sixty is a nice round figure and something to be proud.
Enjoy the nature that is around you rather than destroying it.

I am sorry to hear about the problems with the roof of your mouth being replaced due to your store-bought teeth...  I think it's swell that you keep on replacing things that fall out or off as you mature.  Banging your chin probably doesn't help keep your teeth in place, so I'd recommend keeping upright and try not to fall over if possible.  At least not face first..  I'm also sorry to hear about the cat in your lap.  If there's anything we can do to remove it, or distract it, or make it just go away, let us know.

Perhaps you can take a photo of it and poast it here, and it will go wall-eyed or crosseyed and run into something and leave you alone.

The wood fire sounds homey.  Perhaps you could shoot a photo of that, too.  If the cat happens to land in it, go ahead and snap one of it, too.  Those "0" year birthdays are trendsetters, and a real accomplishment.  The you go into a lull for a decade, until the next milestone.  So enjoy the nice round number.  And keep whatever teeth you have left...  I think having teeth adds to a youthful appearance.

Ace; unless you're a newborn.  Then you can get away without them.

(Sniff)  We went to Golden Corral last night for my "birthday bash," and the cashier did not even bother to ask if we were senior citizens; she just gave us the discount anyway.   :'(  I gave up on Grecian formula years ago when I had to use it for a week or more to help, but what really made me decide to stop using it was that I made the mistake of following it one time with Just for Men hair coloring agent.  It turned my hair green.  :-[

Whiz,
Take the discount and smile.  I used to get upset about it too, until I considered the alternative.  NObody pays retail, or shouldn''.

I'm green  with envy Whizbang, although I think I'll get over it faster than you.  ;D

Actually, I would hate to have green hair and feel bad that you had to experience it.  :'(

Whiz, my niece is going through a cosmetology school in D.C. and she has green hair.  In dreadlocks, that are highlighted with blond(e).  And, of course, is a big Green Day fan.

You are onto the fountain of youth.  Go with the green hair, buy a skateboard... spend all your time text messaging other kids.

Go into rehab for those strained thumbs.  What'd you have at the Golden Corral?

Ace; shoot, I'd just wind up with a green head.  I wonder how old Shrek is.

Well, the first choice was some pre-chewed country-fried steak, er, hamburger.  It was a bit tough for me so I went to meatloaf and spaghetti.  My wife said there was fish, but they were out when I went.  The reason we started going there in the first place was for the broiled salmon, which they no longer have, probably not politically correct with environmentalists.  It was a toss-up with IHOP, and we picked Golden Corral.  One day in the far reaches of my dreams, I want to go to Jacques and Suzanne's on the top floor of the First National Bank in Little Rock.  Someone else would have to pay for it.  We could eat for a month on what that would cost.  I also would have to have someone interpret the menu, which is all in French.   ::)

Je suis un restaurant pour les Jacques et Suzanne, du mas tres s'il vous plait, je ne sais quoi?  Tres bien.  Merci.  Beaucoups de la champs, et petit Merlot alors.  L'enfant cordon pomme de terre haute. Oui?

Ace; that oughta get me in with Whiz at the restaurant.

Hey! Whizbang is 18! Happy 18th birthday!

So, are you celebrating your second, third, or fourth 18th birthday? Ace would like to know, as well as the rest of us.

I wouldn't worry about the hair color thingy. I haven't had hair in so dang long that I don't recall what color it was. For all I know, it's gray now. Or blond. I always find it amusing when people ask me for my hair color. Huh?

I also find it amusing when people ask for my name. A minute after I tell them, they ask, "What was your name?" I usually tell them, "Well, it *was* Alex, but I just changed it to Frank."

What the heck were we talking about? Oh yeah... Happy Birthday Whizbang!

I will offer Ya Yas for Whiz's birthananniversary but who said they're free...  Sure, I listened to Get Your Ya Ya's Out until I wore the grooves out, in HS.

Somehow, I think that Baton Rouge remark threw up a red flag... I better check my old French-English dictionary on just what that voulez vous thing means.  Seemed like a catchy song, anyway.  I would hope the maitre' de responds when we go out for dinner.

Ace; Z_t alors.

The likely reaction will be from the French equivalent of the Le Bouncer.  If you're intent on showing off your mastery of French, you better eat before you go.
