Hi all,

So i hadnt checked my running processes from the task manager in a while, and i discover a fishy one its called "StkSrv2k.exe". Avg (anti-virus) came back negative
and so did ad-aware. My question is, should I find another search and eliminate program?  What about those process specific programs? What do you  guys use?
OS: Winxp sp2

Have you loaded Syntek Hardware Snapshot?
http://www.whatsrunning.net/whatsrunning/QueryProductID.aspx?Product=7467

Some StkSrv2K.exe information

The process Syntek Hardware Snapshot Launch Application Services belongs to the software Syntek Hardware Snapshot Launch Application Services or Syntek DC-112X Service by Syntek America Inc.

Description: StkSrv2K.exe is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. The file size on Windows XP is 24576 bytes.

The program has no visible window. StkSrv2K.exe is an unknown file in the Windows folder. File StkSrv2K.exe is not a Windows system file.

Therefore be cautious
Important: Some malware camouflage themselves as StkSrv2K.exe, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder.

Hope this helps some  :-\

I prefere HijackThis for removal if necessary
