Fliight Simulator runing but not giving me different aircraft options

HI Everyone:

I made a post a while back about running my Flight Simulator 2002 software on my new laptop with Vista. I checked the properties on FS 2002 Desktop icon and changed compatibility to Windows XP SP 2 and I am still only able to use the flight Simulator software with one Aircraft model. I can select any of the different models choices, but only Cessna is the one it defaults to. Any ideas about what is wrong with this or is it just a case that Microsoft wants me to buy their most recent Flight Simulator software in order for it to work properly on my new system.
