Carol, Im so glad you two walked away ok. Ive been in a couple of bad ones and have walked away relatively unscathed. Those things happen so fast and boy, all you can do is count your lucky stars that you are able to walk away.

My very first car was a Corvair, unsafe at any speed indeed. It was jet black with a flaming red interior and as long as you didnt corner too fast, so the rear wheels folded in, you were ok.

I also tend to hang onto cars for a while. I have an 89 Volvo 240 wagon that I use as my extra car. It has 190,000 on it and doesnt burn a drop of oil and still has a nice ride to it.
Its boxy but its safe.

I had a 1996 Toyota Tacoma that I totaled when hitting black ice. The vehicle ended up on the drivers side, so I had to crawl up and out the passenger side door. I know what you went through Carol and am glad you had the same result as me, which was no major injuries.

I suppose anyone driving a city would know what Carol has been through, doing that.  I think I'd rather get a small town, just for ease of parking and gas mileage.  I wouldn't think you'd need to take a Tacoma through the car wash that often, what with the rain.  A Sante Fe probably gets dusty easily.

I know Pat won't get a sun roof, just because it makes him nervous when he sees trees overhead.

I guess I'm driving a zodiac sign, now.  Or just a load of bull.  The other's a Sable, which is either fourlegged or processed as a garment.  I've had pony cars, with a Mustang and Pinto.  Hornets, which required a squirt of raid in the carburetor.  A foot tapping Tempo.  A Plymouth named after a brightly colored Texan.

Oh, and a Lumina Euro.  I suppose that's a monetary denomination shunned by many.

Ace; I wonder what war General Motors fought in.

Ring bells for service.

Here's Ford's idea of staying viable in the car technology market: Ford & Microsoft's 'Sync' Dashboard

This is Chryler's shot in the arm.

And here's GM's solution to all our problems.

Great; can't wait to get a Ford with the Blue Dashboard of Death glowing at me.  Go Blue.

I don't like OSU or Florida, so it was a lose-lose situation for me (especially, since I will not win a NC no matter who wins).

Boise State Number 1!

Stupid Urban Legend Meyer; guy's named for a pope and he turns down ND. And Ohio is way too big of a state to field a football team.  "The" Ohio State; geez.  How pretentious, even for people who take pride in dotting a stupid I.

Purdue still has the biggest drum.  And biggest freaky mascot head.  Which, strangely, resembles the quarterback.  Who, strangely, resembles the basketball coach.

I saw the Detroit Auto Show outtakes; looked like a battery powered Camaro that (only) goes 600 miles.  And the Shelby Mustang, Ferraris, other fuel efficient econo cars.  They probably showed Hyundais, but since nobody knows what they look like no one recognized them.

"The" Jester; I hope jesters don't get outsourced.  Plus, where are they gonna get a foreigner to do janitorial work?
