Hi All.

I have tried uninstalling the XP codec pack which is installed on my W98SE pc. Unfortunately, I keep getting the following error during the process.

Could not load: GplMpgDec.ax
Copy failed
C:\PROGRAM FILES\XP CODEC PACK\filters\GplMpgDec.ax
Could not load: GplMpgDec.ax
Unregistering: ffdshow.ax

Would anyone be able to suggest any other method of removing this from my pc?

Thanks.

Hi Pat.

Thanks for your advice. Will this process remove the XP codec pack or will it just remove some dll and ax files?

Remember I am using W98SE. The reason I have XP codec pack installed is because I think when I was having problems with media playing, the only thing that worked was the xp codec pack. As far as I can remember K-Lite didn't do the trick....but I could be wrong.

Thanks.

Guess what? Before the problem could be fixed, the hard drive gave up! Note to self - never install XP codec pack again!
