Weird Issue with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer

If you discover that viewing JPEGs and Bitmaps in the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer take a long time to open (and sit on "Generating Preview"), check that there aren't any dead links in the directory in which the photos reside.  I guess that the fax viewer tries to preload other images in that particular directory and the dead shortcut causes it to look and wait.
