Ink cartridges

 With the HP 5400 printer I use the AN extra  full cartridges All the same level when installed.

I print very little  in color  and I wonder  with all the black only   printing why does the yellow cartridge use so much more than the others. 

Compared with the others which are now  slightly over half full, the yellow is down to 1/4.

This also occured with my last two  printers both  Epson... Yellow, uses much more than others.

Any ideas
