Title: Update
Post by: scuzzy on February 05, 2003, 19:05 hrs
I'm thinking that the Forum Announcements probably needs to be updated more than once every few months. :)

Regardless, we owe Eric another root beer (he's still under age) for helping us get past some recent forum troubles. If you've been around here for awhile, you'll notice that the forum is considerably faster. This is due to the excellent work by our recent birthday-boy.

Thanks again, Eric. We owe you big-time.

I'll second that expression of thanks. Last week, Eric acted quickly to avert trouble for Poasters, so we can keep running smoothly. We all owe Eric a cream soda or strawberry Nehi or well, youknowwhatImean.

Eric plays a rather unique role at Poasters. He is the primary author of our forum software, YaPP. The YaPP software development project is based upon the open-source YaBB SE forum. The project started with a very good core program, and has added some great features. The result of the all-new programming is a forum that is fast, modern, modifiable, and easy to administer. If you remember how the Poasters forum operated a year or more ago, then you know this is a terrific improvement.

If you think this is fast, you'll like what I'm working on up my sleeve (http://xbb.agigames.com) ;) :P

I just visited, and it looks very promising. Although not nearly complete, it is certainly very fast. Good looking, too.

Ya, we've still got a ways to go, we're only on version 0.4 build 22 at the moment.
