Simple Programming Language?

I am interested in learning how to program and I am looking for a simple language to start with but I don't know enough about it to figure out which one is best.

Any help would be great!

BASIC is the easiest one to learn (likely as VisualBASIC 6 or VisualBASIC.net).

Pascal is also fairly simple to learn (as Pascal or as Delphi, which is a graphical Pascal).

Yah my vote also goes to VB.  It's a popular starting language nowadays.  There are many books, websites, CD's and magazine articles out there which are aimed at the beginner.  It can try your patience at times but don't give up!
