Hi,

When I view a newsgroup in Outlook Express, I am only returned with a few days' postings. How can I view postings older than a few days?

Why is it that I sometimes cannot view a newsgroup (I receive a message about my NNTP server not responding)?

Why is it that not a single site on the web explains newsgroups for dummies?

Why is it such a fuss trying to view newsgroups? Aren't there any sites where you can just click the link and see the postings, like 'Google Groups'?

Because usenet feeds are so enormous these days, most nntpadmins set short expire times - otherwise they need a huge amount of server storage space to keep the messages.

Google Groups does archive most usenet forums - and two other places to try are www.mailandnews.com and news.cis.dfn.de, the latter of which is a free-access news server (it does require that you register and agree to non-commercial terms though).
