It has a sound recorder if you have the hardware such as a microphone. It will save the sound as a wav file. The wav files can be copied to a CD, but they won't play in a normal CD player that you find in a car.

The sound recorder is in start, programs, accessories, entertainment and then voice recorder.

Do a search on google for "Audio CD recording software" and you will find some things that will work. Other than that, I am not familiar with specific software, but someone else may chime in with some recommendations.

Music Match is a freely available multi-function program that plays MP3s, wavs, etc. It also has the ability to record from any input on your computer, CD drives, even the system mixer(which is whatever is playing on the computer). It has unlimited record time unlike sound recorder, and will compress it however you choose while recording. The file can then be burned on to a CD by a burning program that can convert MP3 or WAV to an Audio CD.
