I recently got a linux computer from an auction and I went ahead and formated the HDD to load winxp.

From Fdisk I deleted all of the partitions, created one new partition and then formated the drive.

When the comptuer boots it trys to boot up linux, but gets stuck becuase not all the files exist anymore.

I can't seem to find where linux is loading from, there aren't any extra partitions left on the drive.

I was also able to load winxp onto the drive but using another computer (and the linux drive as a slave) but when it gets set back to master it still boots linux.

Thank-you for your time!

Linux is still in the master boot record.  Boot to the XP CD recovery console and do a fixmbr to rewrite the master boot record.
