Seven Layer Bean Dip (My favorite!)

Seven Layer Bean Dip



Ingredients:



 2 large cans of Old El Paso ?Traditional? refried beans (31oz cans)

 1 pound of extra lean ground beef (1.2 pounds is ideal)

 2 packages of taco seasoning mix (1.25oz packs, Ortega brand is ideal)

 2 large, or 3 medium size tomatoes

 1 bunch of green onions

 1 large container of sour cream (16 to 24oz)

 1 container of guacamole (14oz to 16oz)

 About 4oz of sliced or chopped black olives

 1 package of shredded Colby Jack cheese (8oz)

 1 large package of tortilla chips to dip with

 Salsa of your choice (optional)



Prepare as follows:



1. First Layer: Mix 2 large cans of Old El Paso refried beans with 1 package of taco seasoning and one bunch of chopped green onions.

2. Second Layer: Cook one pound of extra lean ground beef with 1 package of taco seasoning (follow instructions on taco seasoning).

3. Third Layer: Add sour cream.

4. Fourth Layer: Add guacamole.

5. Fifth Layer: Add diced tomatoes.

6. Sixth Layer: Add sliced/chopped black olives.

7. Seventh Layer: Add grated Colby Jack cheese.



Recommendations:



 The beans are easier to mix and spread if slightly warmed in the microwave.

 As an option, empty the guacamole container, wash it inside and out, and fill it with salsa of your choice. Then place the salsa-filled container in the center of the platter, with the beans spread around it.

 Best served slightly cold.
