If you mean by what's written on the mainboard alone, that is usually not easy.

If the board boots, there will be a long string of alphanumerics on the top or bottom of the screen (TAB if there's a splash screen hiding it).

If you can't get the board to boot, look at the board itself.  See if there is a set of numbers or alphanumerics silk-screened onto the board near the expansion slots - and post those.  Or, if there isn't, check for a label with an FCC ID number.

Post the numbers you find and we'll try to point you in the right direction.

If this is a Quantex, chances are the mainboard came from either Biostar or Intel.

The BIOS id string will either be at the top of bottom of your screen when the sys starts to boot.  You may also see AMI or Award BIOS, too.

If your sys isn't booting, the BIOS chip will be labeled as either AMI (American Megatrends) or Award.

How can i determine what BIOS my mother board uses by the motherboard alone?
