i'm interested in buying a scanner for photo work.  Can anyone advise which one to buy with a budget of ?100-150.

also what is the best type of memory to buy SDRAM or DDR??? (or is there a difference).

I don't know about your scanner, but DDR RAM is better than SDRAM if your motherboard supports it. SDRAM is getting more expensive now I think due to not many PCs using it any more. What processor does your PC have? That should determine what types of RAM you're stuck with. And as a side note, DDR2 SDRAM is not better than regular DDR SDRAM, the reason being that its latencies are much higher than DDR's and that alone makes up for its blazing clock speed.
