XP and administrators??

I recently upgraded me to xp. Everything has been fine except that I am prompted to see my administrator when I try to save anything to disk in word and excel. I AM the administrator! (i think)
I can't read disks either. I hope this is an easy fix. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

well i have heard some stories about upgrading from ME to XP. Sounds likes there are a lot of glitches in the upgrading system, maybe thats causing the problem?

Check to make sure you have administrative privileges - and that you have write access to the folder you're trying to save to.
