 Were can I find a key to unlock my laptop?

If you mean that it's locked with a password, try www.portablecomputer.com - they can work with these Compal-built notebooks, upon proof of ownership.

No password , it has a key slot where the power
cord plugs in.  (laptop was locked & key Lost.)

Your best bet then would be to take the notebook to a locksmith.

I don't think a locksmith can help me.

  Slot size 1/8 wide By 9/32 long, and I don't
know what the key looks like.

Laptop was a hand me down that my son got
from his girl friend.

If you know who made the lock (Fellowes, etc.), you can try contacting the manufacturer of the lock.  It likely was not a Quantex original part.

Otherwise, a locksmith is probably your only resort -- if they can't make a key, they can probably figure out how to pick or dismantle the lock without destroying the notebook computer.
