Does this include the case/power supply and extras (HDD/floppy etc.)?

512 of RAM is adequate - you could save some money and invest in a mid-range graphics adapter (5600/9600).

Have you selected a supplier already?  Poast your price findings so far.

sorry, missed out a few things, he wants this system to last without upgrading for 3-5 years, so i sed, put 2x512 in there, that will deal with any power hungry games that come out, and it will have a 60gb Western Digital h/d floppy, cd-rw, case with PSU and i think thats about it, oh yes, and 5.1 surround sound :)

RAM can be added later if needed. A faster video card will give your friend more gaming bang than the extra 512 megs of RAM. In 3 to 5 years, everything will be 64 bit, so I wouldn't worry about the extra RAM now.

A larger hard drive would be a good investment as 120 gig drives are pretty cheap.

Make sure you have a good power supply.

350 to 400 should be fine for your setup and give you the ability to add another hard drive or optical drive later.
