Deadly iPod

It's amazing what you can do with an iPod.

From the Colorado Springs Gazette:

"A Fountain man who awoke to the voices of robbers in his home Sunday night shot both men before they fled with an iPod, police said."

The whole story here: Man 'didn't hesitate' in shooting robbers

I guess it's amazing what you'll go through for an IPod.  I didn't think the things were all that valuable...

Personally I wouldn't own one.  I don't have any interest in lo-fi music.  Overcompressed sound files just don't cut it.

My brother once was washing his car and watching these guys carry a TV out to the parking lot of his apartment...  He noticed how it looked a lot like his TV.

I can just see walking up to Scuzzy's front door and having him greet me with "Ace! You've just Made My Day!"

Ace; I've used a shotgun.  In Call of Duty 4.

Sounds like "Law and Order; Colorado", I think I like it.

I've been broken into a couple of times and that really leaves you feeling peeved off.

Wow.  That is reallly.. wow.  I am so sorry, to hear that.  I mean, I've had my car broken into... never my house... but, me personally..?  Geez.  No.  I'd sure hope not.

wow.  You know, one of those guys from Brokeback Mountain was found dead, I was just reading.  Man.  wow...

Ace; I wouldn't break into something, because I'd figure I'd be arrested, and if you're sent to prison, well, I guess there's a chance you might get...  well.  You know.

Yeah, first time they (I say they but could have been a him or her or just the one or more, who knows?) got my expensive stereo and broke back the door. Second time "they" just made a mess of things, probably kids.

And then there was the time our car got stolen, we did get it back after a couple of weeks though. It was in good shape with just the broken out window and a few scratches, insurance covered the repairs and we had it for some time after.

I don't know that I would have shot any of them, but I'm sure I would have thought of something creative.

Is an autopsy the same as "breaking into" somebody?  I know they keep running tests on Heath Ledger, but I gotta figure it's too late to bring him back...

I also saw this family was going to sue because they found out their son was buried without his brain...  I guess they figured he could still use it.  You know, I know a lot of people who live without one so you wouldn't think it'd be that big a deal to leave without it.

Ace; if someone was going to break into me I'd prefer they not use an IPod.

I just saw on the news that the same church group that has protested and continues to do so at some veteran's funerals plans to have a demonstration at Heath Ledgers. Evidently because of the role he played in Brokeback Mountain.

You know I just don't  really care or not as to whether or not someone thinks being gay is a crime against humanity or the church or whatever.  I just think to demonstrate at someones funeral like that is about as low as anyone can go.

I'd agree they need to figure out some other group activity for their club.  I can imagine what they'd do at Dustin Hoffman's or Jack Lemmon's or Robin William's funerals, for anyone who dressed up and acted like a woman.

Ace; they probably belong to some religion that followed a guy who hung around with 12 other guys.

Actually, the guy in the box is lower.

I remember in the TV room in college a coed burst in and in looking at the screen, asked "Who died..?" and the response was "the guy in the box."

I was also just thinking that should I happen to overdose, whether it's by snorting prescription pills through a $20 dollar bill (no, not our Bill) or whatever, that I would really rather have ANYbody called before Mary-Kate Olsen..

Ace; "these people are so low, they need a step ladder to get over the curb..."

I guess it doesn't add to the humor that I spent most of my formative years in the Springs, or that a similar thing happened to me the day after i moved into my place. Well, except that I didn't shoot the intruder, it was my mother who had decided to let herself in and make me breakfast. I don't really know who was more terrified: me, who had come downstairs ready for anything or my mother seeing me with a gun. XD

I never cared for my Mom's oatmeal, with cocoa.  But not like I thought about popping a cap in her because of it.

Of course, I don't own a gun, so that might explain it.  I gotta figure if your mom was armed with breakfast, but you had a firearm, she was more startled than you.

Ace; although I've seen some biscuits that could take your eye out.
