Fan Shutdown

Hi All,

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to why the fans on my laptop (ATLAS Flyer, 500Mhz, 256 mb RAM, 6gb hdd...) shutdown everytime it's booted into XP Pro?   I didn't have this problem under Windows 98SE and I'm worried that without the fans the processor might get damaged.   Any suggestions would be appreciated.
