Thinkpad Screen

I just installed a new LCD on my IBM Thinkpad and it worked just fine the first time i booted up.  The next time i did the screen was very dark and almost unseeable, all you can see is the faint outline of what it should show.  I was wondering if anyone knew what is causing this and what i can do to fix it.  Thanks alot

One of two things has happened - either the backlight has failed, or the display inverter.
