Huh, well, for Colorado I guess it's okay. I downloaded it last week and uninstalled it yesterday. The nearest "local" weather was 55 miles northeast of here (the wrong side for tracking tornadoes), the "local" radar showed the whole south-central U.S., and the forecasts were straight off the Weather Channel, meaning not too swift.

Local tv does a better job for me. Channel 9 is the most comprehensive. In addition to live Doppler radar and interesting links, info and video, they offer Storm Signal, "the most advanced severe weather notification system in the US...up to the minute current conditions, severe weather notification and breaking news information directly from News 9 Weather Center to your desktop computer, pager, and digital cell phone."

As for why this sort of thing is necessary here in Oklahoma, here's a reminder: After the Storm in Tornado Alley.

As luck would have it, I just happen to live right next door (within 1/4 mile) to one of the weather stations reported by WeatherBug. When our new High School was built a couple years ago, they decided to add a weather station to the HS grounds. It works for me.

So far, I'm very pleased and impressed with the program. I didn't pay too much attention when I first installed the program on my work PC, then later found myself removing the "Gator" and "Companion" software which are some type of pesky ad programs. When I installed WeatherBug on my home PC, I was careful not to install the ad software.

Hi Guys,

I use the thermometer on the patio when I need to know the temp. It works good for me and doesn't interfere with anything. heehee

I downloaded some weather software from WeatherBug.com, and I must admit that I'm very impressed. My systray now displays the current outdoor temperature in my area, and a single click on the icon gives me more weather information than you could imagine. It even includes live cam shots of the area.
