Dual Boot message (again)

In September I posted a query asking how to get rid of a dual boot message. Query kindly gave me the answer.
I now have the same problem again due to a MB problem. I reinstalled using an old back-up (oh dear) of Drive Image.
I now have the same message showing two start up options, but cannot find 'boot.ini. I have used the 'show hidden files' option, but it simply doesn't show. It must have been on the system in September or I wouldn't have been able to edit it.
Help again please and make an old man happy. Running Win2000pro

Make sure you have unchecked the "hide protected operating system files" as well.
