Albedo, sorry I have never used it. Give it a little while and I'm sure that someone will have an opinion and maybe an answer as to why the connections "hang". If you interested in wireless connections I believe that PC world magazine for September had an article about wireless connections. Also exactly what products did you purchase, you never mentioned.

I bought the Intel AnyPoint Wireless USB adapter, and the Intel AnyPoint Wireless PCMCIA card.  I installed the USB on my Dell (PII, 450 MHz) desktop, and the PC card in the Dell Inspiron 2500 laptop.  Both systems are running Win ME, and are stable, with no problems.  The installation and setup are fairly simple.  The first set of hardware I installed would not communicate.  There is basically no diagnostic software and only one status LED on the USB device, so it was difficult to determine which end was not working.  I took them back to the store and got replacements.  Again, they didn't work.  I called Intel, and after two hours on the phone (NOT an 800 number), the tech decided to ship me another PC card.  With it, I could move files between the two machines and share the cable internet connection on the desktop.  However, both machines would intermittently hang up for periods of five seconds to a couple of minutes.  By hang up, I mean that the mouse (or touch pad) were inoperable, the keyboards didn't work.  Then, after a while, the machine would wake up and be responsive.  The 'system monitor' and resource meter didn't show anything unusual.  Also, the network connection would occasionally be broken, for no apparent reason.

So, I decided to return the hardware, and not network the machines.

Albedo, I forgot to ask what kind of connection do you use. Broadband cable,DSL,or Dialup account 56k.

Albedo, have you considered a different company. www.linksys.com or www.smc.com or www.dlink.com connecting systems is their main business. You might want to reconsider and speak to them about your connectivity issue and how they can solve it. You don't have anything to loose but money and time.

Has anyone used this product?  I bought the USB and the PCMCIA devices to network my desktop and laptop.  After a call to Intel Support, I did get it working, but it seems to hang up the local network and the internet shared connection.  I'll probably take it back, unless I can get a clue here.
