"Traditional observation cannot unravel the ecological mystery of the animals," said Wei Fuwen, from the China Academy of Sciences' Institute of Zoology.

Just give the female pandas some extra makeup, and possibly a breast augmentation. Then, give the males some Viagra and a couple Bahama Mamas.

Problem solved.

Ace and Pandas, Gee im starting to think there is a history there between the 2

Bill

Ace has access all the time.  That funny hat he wears with the jingly bells is hides a wi-fi transmitter and enclased in the belled appendages are flexible antennas.

He is just a walking hot spot.

Any animal that attributes its existence to the ingestion of the tips of green fishing poles is really a little too picky to make it on its own.  I wonder how much effort has gone into trying to induce them into broadening their cuisine.

Ace

If you've been flooded out on the gulf coast, Denny's would seem to be one of the top dining out spots...

Chopstix actually serves Panda, I believe.  Not pandas; Panda.

The latest and most popular regional cusine in Nawlins' these days is Domino's Pizza.  The chain set up a temporary kitchen in a trailor next to the court house - or should that be courthouse-  and has been providing free pizza for all.

No seafood to be had, the shrimp are floating in oil.

I've grilled shrimp in a little olive oil.. and butter.  I don't think it's bad

Oh. Hold it.  That kind of oil.  Eeww.

You know, you wonder what Popeye cooks with.

I'm violently opposed to Dominos Pizza; I actually attended one while attending Purdue, and would walk across campus for it.  And let me tell you, that is one large campus to walk across.  But years after we ordered an all-meat one that had Pineapple on it.  I am violently opposed to Pineapple, and would purge it if I encountered it.  After much arguing with them and obliviousness on their part I wound up delivering it back to them.  That was the end of that, and them, to me.

I suppose if I was flooded and there weren't any choices beyond Dominos, and maybe "Chopstix", I could try them again.  Or if I was covered in oil.

"your name here"; get that lighter away from me

Bill

How does one grill shrimp in oil?  Do you float your fire on the surface?  That must be quite a trick.  I thought the whole purpose of grilling was to avoid all the saturated fats.

Offering your prose for attribution by anyone that want to claim it doesn't say much about pride of authorship.

I believe the reference was to the natural effluent oil, and the shrimp are a bit raw and way over-dead with possibly a few added parasites and saprophytes added to the mix.   :P

Ace

Ok, look... I may not be the best cook around but I don't prepare effluent soaked dead seafood...  That often.

See, that's why I hesitate to sign anything.  People get all critical about it, and start the mud slinging.  Or oil, or whatever.  And heck, if we're talking about parasites, I mean, everybody has to depend on others for something, right..?

I don't even know what a dang saprophyte is.  I hate it when you guys throw out some dang term I have to go look up.  Especially since after I do I still go "huh?"

I griddle the dang shrimp.  I throw the dang things on the Barbie.  I pan them.  I don't know what you call them.  I'm a gourmand, not a gourmet.  I don't even consider the saturated fats thing.  I get along with them and parasites just fine.

Geez.

You know, sometimes I think Denny's cooks stuff in similar lubricants.  That's why I go to Perkins if I'm inclined to breakfast somewhere else.  And never dinner.

"your name here": we've got a Panda Express in the food court at the mall.  I don't even want to think about what they serve there.

First, I would like to congratulate all parties involved for a splendid effort and a truly representative poast.  Ergo:

* First, for even bringing up the subject of pandas and procreation.  That alone should be banned.

* Suggesting I have some morbid attraction to them, and that.  Probably as much as I do quantum physics, or computer repair.

* Suggesting applying makeup and the type of products I seem to get a lot of email offers for, to the scourge of the earth and vermin these things are.  Extreme makeover, indeed.  That's like saying "You know, hon, I was thinking that instead of removing those barrels of toxic waste and leftover containers of Anthrax maybe we could just paint them instead?"

* You know, the late night crowd at all night diners usually is pretty scary just as is, let alone if there was a chance of running into a booth of Pandas at some greasy spoon...

* My luck, I'd get a booth at midnight between some hungover pandas trying to order breakfast with onion rings as an appetizer, and Scuzzy working the late shift.

* I suppose Dennys serves donuts 24/7.

* Keeping in mind I am dead set against even responding to any "news item" regarding pandas, as much as I would offer a lethargic response at best to a poast entitled "War; huh.  What is it good for?" I intentionally sought to take this one off topic.  That's pretty much habitual anyway, on my part.  I'm still amazed though that we once again turned it into Yet Another Poast About Food.

* Of all the myriad of contributions and offerings here, I would say Bill should get the Verbal Irony Award for criticizing my word choices and cooking acumen, only to take the whole day to come up with a 3 word response.

* I was trying to figure out why I actually poasted a link to Biloxi dining establishments, and then I remembered I wasn't exactly sober at the time.

"my fake name here": I would try verbal ironing but I burn my tongue on hot stuff too often as it is.

Bill

"News Item"

Thank you, very much.  That's 4 words.  Is that better?

I wasn't challenging your cooking skills.  I was simply curious.  I don't eat shrimp, at all.  I'm allergic.  But then maybe you think I should.

Scuzzy would probably arrest you for harrassment and find a rubber hose to change your attidude about those cute black and white teddy bears.   Just because they stink..geez.

I was only trying to change the direction...I didn't mention breakfast, or pancakes, or ERs,  or Denny's, or Perkins, for that matter.

Seems some people have a fixation on food.  Not me.

Where's the porkrind?

Bill

Ace

Criminy, it's on the outside of the pork.  Where do you think it is.

How do you know you're allergic to shrimp if you don't eat them?  Maybe you should try some, just to confirm.  I know I can't eat pineapple, or grapefruit, or celery or cherries.  Because I get nauseated just thinking about them.

You know, shrimp can be an accelerant for gout.  And cherry juice is supposedly the cure.  I've tried both; I preferred the part on getting the afflication a lot more than the cure.

I like that "attidude" remark.  That's pretty cool:  "I'm so cool, I've got a AttiDude.  Dude."  Yeah.

Bob; it's probably just as well McDonald's isn't called "Kroc's"
Ring bells for service.

Bill

I wonder if pandas have trouble procreating because they can't tolerate the smell of each other.   "Geez...I want to but you stink."

Shrimp smell too.   Last time I experimented with shrimp, and lobster, and nuts, I wound up with my own trip to the ER.  Dang near became one with the ages, passing not so silently into the long night.

Kroc is to McDonald's as Ace is to grilled in oil shrimp.

I hate those IQ tests where you're trying to figure out the analogy; "Pig is to flying as Gulf Shrimp is to..."

I don't know.  Grease, I guess.

I could go for the Lobster and Shrimp, but nuts to the nuts.  That just doesn't seem to go with those, at all.
No wonder you got sick.

Heh; I bet they didn't pass so silently into the long night...

I guess if I had to die by food I'd rather have pancakes and sausage, too.  No way do I want to see seafood at breakfast.

Ace; "C... C.C. Rider.... C.... C.C. Food..."

No, but sometimes I read a poast from the middle out to see how many emoticons were used.

And there is no dang excuse for namecalling in the forum, Neon.  Geez criminy pandamonium.

I don't think pandas would want to, besides the stink.  I mean, at least not with their eyes open.

Ace; maybe if you put a bag over her panda head, and doused her with Febreze... no, that still wouldn't be good enough.

One too many.  I don't know, maybe he's inundated with Hurricane evacuees in Texas and it's getting to him.

I wouldn't think Canadians have too many hurricanes, so that isn't what became of Trav.  I did buy Moosehead in his honour, these past couple weeks.  It's been on sale at Osco's.

I'm thinking if I was to follow up some Mooseheads with a shot of Jagermeister, I could have antlers appear out of all sorts of places.

Ace; I gotta get the camera ready for this one.

Whoops, that's because I wrote it incorrectly. You are supposed to say it five times fast, and into a mirror.

At least, I think so - there seem to be some chocolate stains on this page of my Encyclopaedia Incaentationa.

Ok; that is a mess.  It looks like you have chocolate fingers.  Like a carpet crawler; heh.

Alright.  So who's supposed to show?

Trav?
JimS? LinS?
Bill?
Pat?
Scuzzy?
Buff?
Ian? Iggie?
Ja?
Martele?
Bob? Carol? Ted?  Alice?
Whiz?
MaHrk?
Neon?
Cars?  Query?  Qwerty?
William Shatner?

Geez; I can't think of anyone else.  That's about all who socialize.  Unless it makes someone appear in the tech rooms.  I know for me personally if I go

my icons disappear of my desktop, and I have to remember all that msconfig and regedit stuff that gets me into trouble.

Well, I don't see anyone appearing with those "magic words".  I'm thinking they aren't the right ones, or something.

Ace; I'd like to believe in that stuff, but I just don't see it working.
