Title: Eagles Farewell Tour
Post by: scuzzy on November 25, 2006, 13:47 hrs
My wife and I stopped by Wal-Mart yesterday to pick up a few needed items. While my wife shopped for groceries, my daughter and I hung out by the electronics department and it wasn't long before I was thumbing through the music section. Much to my pleasant surprise I found the Eagles Farewell I Tour - Live From Melbourne on DVD, for all of $9.00 and some change. I immediately scarfed up one of the gold-jacketed, 2-DVD disc copies, which included a bonus 3-track CD.

If you have ever enjoyed the Eagles in any measurable amount, then you will absolutely love this DVD. It is easily worth three times the asking price. If you live across the Big Pond, jump a flight to the USA and run to the local Wal-Mart before they run out. Watching and listening to Joe Walsh belt out Life's Been Good alone makes this DVD worth buying, and the new No More Cloudy Days just adds to the pleasure. The DVDs are loaded with all the other Eagles classics that we've all come to love, including a perfect rendition of Rock and Roll's all-time staple Hotel California.

If you get to Wal-Mart and there's only one copy left, then I recommend fighting for it if necessary. Don't hold any punches back, either. This is actually worth some jail time.  ;D

Oh, I don't know if it compares to Marilyn Manson (with John-5!!) but I guess that's ok.  At least it's not the Doobie Brothers or the Jackson Browne box set.

I do like Joe Walsh, just because he's an idiot and fun to watch anywhere he appears.  Actually, I like the Boys of Summer probably best.  Hotel California is like Stairway to Heaven to me... I just don't want to invest in that long a story, with my attention span.  Probably why I don't read books but can make it through a magazine ok.  Plus, it's easier to stack magazines on top of the dryer, in the downstairs bath/laundry room...

I won't go to Wal-Mart, though.  uh uh.  Not even if they had "Cradle Of Filth Christmas" on sale.

ace; now someone's trying to locate that, on Amazon.com

I think we witnessed the beginning of the Eagles Farewell Tour on Sunday.
