memesuze,

Give this a try... Go into "My Computer", then Control Panel, and select "Add/Remove" programs. Next, select "Microsoft Internet Explorer", and click on the Add/Remove button. On the next screen that pops open, you'll have "Repair Internet Explorer" as an option. Go ahead and select that option, and click "OK". This may help to resolve your problem.

Sometimes Internet Explorer "fights" being repaired, and you'll have to do this 3 or 4 times (in a row). If you want to know why, you'll have to ask the Microsoft gods. Also, I have no idea why Bill Gates buried this feature in the Add/Remove Programs. It makes no sense, but it does work.

Susan,

I'm glad you found a solution, and I'm also thankful that you updated us. The above trick basically rebuilds Internet Explorer back to new condition, so you may yourself needing it someday. It doesn't hurt anything, so don't be afraid to try it if you IE acts up again.

I've just started being unable to right-click on a url and "open in new window." Althought the right-click menu drops down, all my clicking is to no avail. Additionally, I am occasionally unable to get to a new site by clicking on a link. This all started this morning - no changes to the machine since it last worked properly, on Friday.  This is on my box at work, connected to a LAN. A Dell OptiPlex G1, W98SE with 128 MB RAM.

Any ideas?

TIA, Susan in Austin...
