HI Everyone:

I am once again trying to help a friend out with a computer problem and am installing a brand new 80 GB Western  Digital 800BB - 2 MB -7200 RPM hard drive in her old computer which is a P2 - MMX - 450 MHZ - 100MHZ FSB. She doesn't have money to buy a new computer so I just keep trying to patch up her old one.
So the boot disk took me through the format process and loading the necessary windows files, but when it comes to rebooting and starting up Windows I get this error message:

Windows could not start because of computer disk hardware configuration problem Could not read select Boot Disk. Check boot path and disk hardware.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ira

I can find something about that here, KB 314477

Is the other (old) drive still connected?
