cpu and ram ugrade

I guys , hope you can help. I have a Compaq Presario 4410CA 1.3 GHZ 256 MB ram and 40 gig hardrive. I want to put in a faster cpu, but dont know what type of cpu to buy and how fast I can go. Also, does ram max out to a certain level too. I have two slots.

It's a Celeron 1.3, and those processors top out at 1.4 GHz, so that's the limit -- everything faster than that is based on a P4, not a P3, so it won't work in your system.

You can have up to two, 256 MByte PC133 DIMMs - if you currently have one, you can add another;  if you have two 128s, you need to replace one or both of them to upgrade.
That would give you either 384 or 512 MBytes.
