Hello

My fiend got a Biostar board M7MIA...Here's the problem the mobo is for AMD up to 1.43GHz but at the same time he got a AMD Athlon XP 1800 (1.53GHz)....The answer to my question is (no) but I'm double checking.....Can he use the 1.53GHZ on this Board even that says up to 1.43GHZ.... ::)

Hi willy,
I have some info for you.
This one goes to the product page.
http://www.biostar-usa.com/products/socketA/m7mia/m7mia_specs.htm

And this one goes to the bios for that board, you?ll see there is a revision that says it supports the XP processor, although not to what speed.

If you decide to try updating the bios, here is link to the directions.

hope this helps

If the socket and voltage are the same (which they should be), and there's no bios update available, I think it will just not use it to the full potential, but it should still work at 1.4.

it might come down to the board revision number and the BIOS. Have a read: AMD Athlon XP 1800+ Processor and Technology review
