Hi All,

In Excel 97, is it possible to delete the contents of a cell (using the delete/backspace buttons) but leave the formula? If so, how?

Thanks.

Mark H

The formula is the contents of the cell. Delete the contents, and you delete the formula. You can combine the forumula with an If-Then if you want it to show a blank in certain situations.

For example:

If you want cell A2 to be A1 times 10, but be blank if A1 contains a 1, then the formula for A2 would be:

=If(A1=1, "", A1*10)

Enjoy the nature that is around you rather than destroying it.

Thanks Mark H.

I'm surprised that Microsoft haven't found a way round this yet (or choose not to implement it)!
