Norton Antivirus 2003 problems

Hello all,

My dad had Norton SystemWorks 2003 and it would not work for him so he uninstalled it and just put Norton AntiVirus 2003 on his PC.

When he goes to run a system scan, it starts scaning for a few seconds, then, just shuts down....He and me were thinking he had a virus?

He also says that this is what happened to him with Norton SystemWorks 2003

Does the scanner shut down, or does the system shut down?

You might try the online scanner at www.antivirus.com if you can access the Internet.

I dont think its a virus, but to be sure you can maybe uninstall it and then reinstall it and perform the system scan that Norton usually does before installing.

You could also check for malware using AdAware and Spybot Search and Destroy.

Hi, we ran TrendMicro Housecall and it cuaght 9 viruses, 7 were Bugbear and 2 were "worm" aaaaand! 1 couldnt be cleaned

Now nortonAV works :)
