I am considering installing a wireless system for home internet use.

My question is, is it secure? Someone told me once that they were able to pick up someone else's wireless internet connection on their laptop computer. They were able to pickup their wireless internet signal.

Is this something that I should even be concerned with? If so, is there something I should do?

Yes, it is something to be concerned about, and you can do something about it - make sure you secure your wireless network with encryption - ideally, WPA, but WEP is better than nothing.
