Title: Dad & Son Projects
Post by: scuzzy on December 18, 2008, 23:52 hrs
This chess board was from my first wood project with our oldest son, Mark. I'm guessing that he built this about 10+ years ago with help from his dad. As you can see from the photo, it still looks great after all these years.

Maple and American Walnut was used for this. All sides were chamfered prior to assembly, creating a nice look.

This was Mark's third project, which he did solo. He made it as a wedding gift back in 1999 for a friend of his. American Walnut was also used for this. The finish was still wet when he presented the gift. The bride got too close and stained her dress. :)
