Introduction

Animal House needs no introduction, it's John Landis' classic college comedy, which made John Belushi a star.  It is the story of the rebelious Delta House.

Video

One word sums up this transfer - amazing.  The Double Secret Probation version is Digital Remastered and comes from a difference print (source) than the older release.  It is now Anamorphically enhanced, which means that viewers with widescreen sets, or PC viewers get considerably higher resolution images.  There is no noticeable grain or other video artifacts to be seen.

Audio

Again, vast improvements have been made.  The original PAL release had Mono Dolby Digital sound.  This version still retains the Mono track for those that want it, but also has a Dolby Digital 5.1 track.  This is mainly used for music etc but does make a difference, you feel much more immersed in the film.

Menus

The menus feature small clips (with audio) from the film, and they alternate if you leave the disc sitting alone.  There is also constant music.

Special Features

Where are they now? - A "documentary" about what the characters are doing now.  This treats the movie itself as being a documentary too.  Very funny.

The Yearbook - An Animal House Reunion - this one is talking to the cast, not the characters and has various behind the scenes footage in it too.  Worth watching.  Note, this was in the original release too.

Did you know that? - behind the scenes stuff and anecdotes while you're watching the movie

Music Videos - covers of some of the songs from the movie

Overall Rating: 9.5/10
