SINCE NOBODY READS FAQS, PLEASE DON'T CONSIDER THIS A FAQ. THIS IS NOT A FAQ!

This message board is designed with navigational shortcuts you won't find in other such tabled boards, so these tips should make getting around here easier, especially if your name is Ace.

The first tip is to register as a member. Use poaster@poasters.com if you prefer. And don't be shy about poasting.

Some of the navigational features are set by cookies. These are low-fat cookies that don't leave this site. They can be erased any time by clicking the LOG OUT button, but that defeats their purpose, which is to recognize you when you come back and set up the following nifty features.

PINK FOLDERS

Pink folders denote topics that have new messages since you were here last.

ACTIVE SESSIONS

Again, topics with new messages, except that by clicking this link, you get to see all of the active topics on one page.

What if you're brand new here and you don't know where to begin? Well, if you have a specific topic in mind, try the Search link at the top right beside the (shudder) FAQ link. Don't, of course, bother with the FAQ.

Near the top right of each forum's main page is a drop-down menu. You can choose from a list of possible viewing options, from 'Show all topics' to 'Show all topics from last day'. If you're here every day or just in a hurry, that last option comes in handy.

When you enter a forum, 1,2,3, etc. may show up on the right just above it. That tells you how many pages of topics there are in that forum, and you can click on any of those numbers to view just that page. The longer it's been since a topic was poasted or responded to, the farther back in the pages it will be. The topics containing the most recent replies will always be at the top of page one.

Once you're inside a forum, right below the banner on the left side you will see a cascading folder list, showing exactly where you are at any time. Clicking on a folder icon will return you to that level of the forum.

Down at the bottom of the page, there's a Jump To box on the bottom right where you can pick another forum. Or you can go back and reload the main forum page to see if any Active Topics have started since you logged in.

I hope I haven't made any of this sound complicated. Just a few minutes playing around will demonstrate how easy it is. Even for Ace.
