Title: Subwoofer placement
Post by: serice889 on August 20, 2009, 03:38 hrs
I have my pc desk in the middle of a wall and am deciding where to put the subwoofer. I can either put it under the desk or put it on top of my dresser which would make it in the corner of the room. I like boomy bass and i dont care about accurate bass.the dresser is about 4 feet high. Im thinking about putting it in the corner on top of the dresser with about 8 inches on each side from the wall with the port facing the wall. Is this a good idea?

Hello and welcome to poasters.

The floor would most likely be the best, but try it and see how you like it.
I keep mine under the desk, there is plenty of room and it's out of the way and works just fine there.

Bass tends to be non-directional, but you often get best results by placing the subwoofer on the floor. This is especially true if the subwoofer uses a down-firing driver.

I would simply try it both ways and chose whichever gives you the best result.
