Well, I'm running Windows XP Pro, as all of you should know, with a 866Mghz prosecor with an ATI RADEON 7200 AIW.
I upgraded today, to 512SDR RAM, and the system bootup, game loads were fast, but the visuals were not. What I thought of doing was going to 16-bit color, and I have never been happier!

512 when your using XP or 2000 is great!!!

I just helped my friend upgrade his new Compaq from 256MB to 512, and runs much better. We found a Kingston 256MB PC2700 stick of RAM on sale for $25 after $35 in mail in rebates. I also helped him order a new PCI video card to improve performance overall, and especially when he gets his digital camera. It was an EVGA PCI MX440 DDR 64MB for $50 from tiger direct, and should be a lot better than his Intel Extreme.
