I have been considering upgrading my computer to dual core, but I missed my chance to get a 3800+ X2 for $150. Now I can get Opteron 165 for about $153 at newegg. This looks like an X2 3800+ with 2MB cache instead of 1MB, and only 1.8Ghz.

I figure I can buy this, overclock it to 2.2Ghz just like my 3000+ is. Does this seem logical to you all?

Yes. Opteron 165 is very popular with the overclockers. I am running one at stock right now. Very cool running. I like it.
