vivo vs tv tuner with linux

so what is the difference ?
and can any one of these record audio as well?
(and if not how do people go about making back ups of thier vhs movies?)....pretty soon ill be switching to linux so thats probably a factor, i also want to do  or watch some suff on my regular tv.... as always any help would be appreciated. any card suggestions?
