speaker problem

everytime i turn my speakers on - Creative T5400, static is coming out and nothing else. i bought the speakers 5 months ago and have had no problems until a few days ago. is there anything i can do to sort the problem out?

Try them with a different source (like a portable CD or MP3 player) to rule out a problem with the source.

If the static continues, I'd send them back for replacement.
