Four Dollars per Month on Electric Bill Saved Daughter's House

I noticed some time ago that the LED on my daughter's meter loop surge protector was not working and finally remembered to call REA about it.  Thankfully. we did not have any severe storms since I noticed the outage because a direct lightning strike had literally fried the surge protector and blackened the back of the meter.  No power was lost and no damage to the house nor appliances.   A+  to the technology that prevented a disaster that could have been a total loss.

Who is Electric Bill?  And how did he save the house?

Four dollars a month for that sort of service seems reasonable to me.........

Oh, I'm right here.  I thought this poast was about Stan O'Neal's severance package as Merrill Lynch ex-CEO.

California shoulda fixed the forest surge protector.

Ace; next: Electric Bill

Okay, you're gonna have to clarify for us flatfoots in Colorado.

What is a "meter loop surge protector" and who is REA? And how does increasing the electric bill by $4 save a house?

And how do you blow up the meter without losing power? I need to get in on this.

Scuzzy; my kids are always increasing my electric bill.

Scuzzy2; the gas is always greener on Ace's side of the fence.

Yes.  Whizbang called you electric.  Maybe he meant eclectic.

"Maybe he meant eclectic." only applies to the wealthy.  The rest of us are just crazy, particularly displaced yankees anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon line.

How come the pills for gas are green...?

Ace; I hope that wasn't a non sequitur.

Rural Electric of Arkansas.  They offer a surge protector that fits between the meter and the base that diverts spikes to ground.  They are not guaranteed to work for lightning strikes, but this one definitely won the medal of honor giving its life.  It adds only about $4.00 to the monthly bill.  The unit was burned to a crisp.  I have no idea how the power stayed on except to say that the lightning was diverted to ground without affecting the house at all.

Ace

Geez, Whiz, way to change the subject.

Ok; a question comes to mind.  Is there an URBAN Electric, of Arkansas?  Does that only run to Bill and Hillary's old place?

So, the way I understand, you spent $4 a month, and the lousy thing gave out.  I hope you still had the warranty on it.  You know, the odds are, lightning won't strike again.  Although I remember reading about a guy who did get hit, twice.  Boy, talk about when your "number is up."  Must've been "double, or nothing" day with the Fates.  Even then, he survived half of them.

It'd be weird to find a vampire impaled under a yard spike, on Halloween.  That'd creep me out.  Dr. Frankenstein coulda used a surge protector, on his invention.  Just to be safe.  And some spikes.

Ace; I'd rather have a soggy surge protector than a crisp one, I guess.

I guarantee that as long as people continue to worship Bill, lightning will continue to strike in Arkansas.

How about this guy then?

Ok, I am being quoted entirely out of context here and my meaning is misconstrued and I retract my previous statements and deny making them plus find using my words against me libelous and at this time would like to change my quote, and would defend you to your death my rights to make them.

Also, was that in reference to Electric Bill or Wild Bill?

I'll look up Unlucky Bill, next.

Ace; I have a special mail holder for Overdue Bill.
