replace keypad on dell notebook?

How do I put the keypad or keycap back on the spring mechanism?  The "u" pad poped off and doesn't seem to be damaged.  A google search didn't produce much that was helpful.

I have tried the dell support web site and the keyboards shown are nothing like mine. this is an old CPiR and the spring is metal not plastic, and no plunger in the center.
I really don't want to replace the keyboard, again.

ja there is a way to do this, but a technique is required.

Took about 15 minutes of foolin' with it but it finally just snapped back on.  Must be all in the touch.  I got lucky.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Probably my fault, usually is.  This was the "u" key.  The "i" was giving me trouble and I was pusing on it to get it to work, which it now does.
The 'u' popped off while I was in the process.
As to how:  The caps are mounted on a metal scissor spring.  I insert a small diameter wire under the scissor to hold it up with my left hand while positioning the cap, right side down first, with my right hand.  As I carefully pushed down I heard a small snap, then I removed the wire holding the scissor while holding the cap in place and then pushed the left/center of the cap down and it snapped back on.  Probably dumb luck.
And, it works, much to my surprise.
