Title: D-Link DI-624 random disconnects
Post by: cdn_guy81 on June 06, 2009, 14:34 hrs
I have a D-Link DI-624, and I keep getting disconnected randomly when I use uTorrent, use my webcam via MSN, or go online with my ps3.  I cannot even play online at all with the ps3 because I just get disconnected if I try to do so.

I know it's a problem with the router because if I hook up my cable modem directly to my PC, I never get disconnected.  I have installed firmware updates for the router.

If it helps, I am running Windows XP Pro.  I have no idea what the problem could be, can anyone help?

When using the router are you wired or wireless?

What firmware version did you last install?

I have cured issues like this before by manually configuring the router, instead of leaving things on auto.  In particular, you should download a wireless monitor application such as Airgrab and make sure that you use a vacant channel - set it manually.  If you are only using wireless g, then set it manually to wireless g.  Sometimes, you just have to keep tweaking to get the best out of some equipment.

I have a PC that is wired, a laptop that is wireless, and ps3 is wireless.  I have firmware update 2.76.  I have tried to look into the UI by typing 192.168.0.1. but I wouldn't know what to really check in terms of settings.
