Successfully connected a laptop running XP Home to a desktop running XP Pro through the network cards. Able to share files OK but when I open a browser (IE) on the laptop it tries to connect through the modem and will not go through the network like I want it to. In Internet Properties of the laptop I have checked dial whenever a network connection is not present but don't know what else to do. Please advise.
Solved my problem by going to Network connections in primary computer; right clicked dialup connection, advanced tab, checked bottom 3 options.
