Post by: ingeborgdot on November 06, 2009, 23:50 hrs
What is your thought on this board.  I have read some good things about it.  What is the quality of this MSI board?  MSI P55-GD80

I don't have that board but have had plenty of MSI boards in the past.  Personally, I have had no problems at all with them and the quality has always been very high.

I don't have that board either, but it sure looks sweet... albeit a little on the expensive side.

Like Buff, I've had MSI boards in the past. I once had to replace a chipset fan once, but that was the extent of my troubles.

Indeed that does look like a nice board, feature rich and the reviews I read gave it high marks. It is somewhat expensive, but if you need or want those features, that's the way it goes.

I've had a couple of MSI boards, my first build was with one. The first one had those bad caps that were around some years ago and even though the ends of the caps swelled up, the board remained stable till the end. I still have it, and I'm sure it would still work fine.
