I have finally made a decision to upgrade to Win 7 32 bit because I have some old HP hardware that I really don't want to replace.

I have just ordered Home premium, 2 more gigs (total of 4) of memory and an Intel SSD for the new OS.

The plan now is to move the 150 gig V-Raptor as storage and use the SSD as an 80 gig single partition.
I haven't found any reference to dividing the SSD into partitions.  If it exists somewhere I would appreciate knowing.

EDIT: this MS blog "Engineering Win 7" suggests Win 7 comes with a tool to create SSD partitions.  Is this so?  http://tinyurl.com/d7nk5b  That would be helpful!

Yes, Windows 7 has partition management, similar to that in Vista.  To all intents and purposes, the SSD is the same as any conventional disk when it comes to partitioning in Windows 7.
