Hi all, i have a problem that's been driving me crazy for the past few weeks. just got myself an internet radio, which needs access to port 80 to connect to the net.

thing is, i cannot access my router (speedtouch 585) to make the changes, either via the speedtouch software or it's ip address 192.168.1.254. once or twice i've managed to access router through reinstalling its software. i've been trying the reinstall for the past hour but have yet to access router. i think i've probably screwed up somewhere...don't know where though ???

i have a wireless net connection and use an inspiron 6400

any ideas?

cheers

Try conncecting directly to the router using a network cable. If you still can't access the router, then reset it.

right, can only access router when i get assigned it's ip address (then i can access via wireless or network cable...live in uk, use virgin media)......however, although i can access  router this way, i cannot access the rest of the net. if i want to access net, it's a case of turning the power of/on on my modem & router until i get a different ip address assigned. probably a problem with my network somewhere
