4th of July in Britain?

Okay, this poast is to hopefully resolve the controversy, once and for all, over whether or not Britain has a 4th of July.

So what is it in Britain today? Is it in fact the 4th of July? Or did the 3rd simply spill over into the 5th? If the latter, did you folks have two 3rd of Julys, or two 5th of Julys?

You know, I've seen how some of you Brits drink, and I'm guessing you prefer two fifths.

Better yet would be if Brits are allowed to make what otherwise would have been the 4th of July into whatever day they wanted. My pick would be December 21, since that's my birthday.

While you might get twice the presents, you'd also be twice as old.
Early retirement anyone?

Bill; at my age I'd rather skip a year.

Although I don't live in Britain (couldn't have said that a hundred years ago  ;) ), I'm fairly sure 4th of July is just, well 4th of July.  This year it was a tuesday.  Most of the brits Brits were watching other teams in the World Cup.

I've seen the Brits drink too and...

Well, it's not Ireland.

Saoirse was right.  Here in Britain the 4th of July was actually just the 4th of July.  Tuesday.

The weather was nice and I had a couple of beers but nothing excessive.
I am curious about the phrase "how some of you Brits drink".  Do we drink differently then from you guys?  Do you drink through your noses or something?

How was your Independence Day?  The movie of the same name was screened last night on one of the satellite movie channels but I don't know if that was intentional or not.  Always nice to see Jeff Goldblum saving the world.

Buff; Bill Pullman for President!

That is so weird, because here it's the 5th of July (Cinco de Julio) and Wednesday.  I thought it usually is earlier there.

I always thought "Great Britain" was a little pretentious.  Not clear, and specific, like "Northern Ireland" and Sou... well, Ireland.  Guess that's more like West Virginia and Just Regular Ol' Virginia.  Like "Great Grandfather."  I think that's a matter of opinion.

And don't forget Will Smith.  He was right there in the thick of it.  Stupid stinking aliens.  Oh, and Tom Cruise.  He helped spread his cold and kill of bunch of them too.

ace; I suppose a Scientologist might feel kinda bad about killing aliens who've landed.
Ring bells for service.

Okay, then. That settles it.

Ace drinks beer through his nose.

Talk about Ace, he brings up an important point. Soon the question will be, does Britain have a Cinco de Mayo? At the rate we're going, we're going to lose the Alamo a second time and nobody will have a 4th of July anymore.

But if you ask the Indians (aka: Native Americans), we probably overstayed our welcome.

Scuzzy; Great Scott!
